(VOVWORLD) -President Ho Chi Minh monument was inaugurated on Monday, Vietnam's National Day, in Ho Chi Minh City by the Military Region 7 Command.

The monument covers 2,150 square meters in Military Region 7 Command Headquarters, Ho Chi Minh City. The statue of Ho Chi Minh is cast in pure red copper, stands at 7.9 metres high and weighs nearly 15 tonnes.
The project of profound political, historical and humanistic significance expresses the respect and gratitude of the Military Region Command, officers and soldiers of the Military Region 7's armed forces for the beloved leader. It will contribute to educating tradition and patriotism for all officers and soldiers as well as studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality, and style.
